Chicken Marinade

Method

Chicken Marinade Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a mixing bowl, combine the boneless chicken thighs, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly. Add the egg and mix until the chicken is fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Orange Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Orange Sauce

In a saucepan, combine the fresh orange juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, and red chili flakes. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

  2. 3

    Thicken the Sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth. Slowly add this mixture to the simmering sauce, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

Frying the Chicken

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).

  2. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully add the marinated chicken to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to remove the chicken and drain on paper towels.

Final Assembly

  1. 6

    Combine Chicken and Sauce

In a large bowl, toss the fried chicken with the prepared orange sauce until well coated.

  2. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Transfer the orange chicken to a serving platter. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot with steamed rice or your choice of side.
