Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Proteins

In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken, beef, and shrimp. Add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and mix well. Allow to marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the proteins are marinating, wash and slice the bell pepper, julienne the carrot, and slice the green onions. Set aside with the snow peas and bean sprouts.

  3. 3

    Cook the Noodles

In a pot of boiling water, cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Stir-fry the Proteins

In a large wok or frying pan, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken, beef, and shrimp. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until cooked through and lightly browned.

  2. 5

    Add the Vegetables

Add the sliced bell pepper, julienned carrot, snow peas, and bean sprouts to the wok. Stir-fry for an additional 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

  3. 6

    Incorporate the Noodles

Add the cooked chow mein noodles to the wok, tossing everything together.

  4. 7

    Prepare the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together the remaining 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water. Pour the sauce over the noodles and proteins in the wok, stirring well to combine and coat everything evenly.

  5. 8

    Finish Cooking

Continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and the sauce has thickened slightly.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve the Chow Mein

Transfer the chow mein to a serving platter. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro before serving.
