Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Protein

Slice the chicken breast and beef sirloin into thin strips. Peel and devein the shrimp if not already done.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Julienne the carrot, slice the bell pepper, and chop the green onions. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water until well combined. Add black pepper to taste.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Cook the Noodles

In a large pot of boiling water, cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. 5

    Stir-Fry the Protein

In a large wok or frying pan, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and beef, and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Add the shrimp and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until they turn pink. Remove the protein from the pan and set aside.

  3. 6

    Stir-Fry the Vegetables

In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the carrots, bell pepper, and green onions. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly tender but still crisp.

  4. 7

    Combine and Serve

Return the cooked protein to the pan with the vegetables. Add the cooked chow mein noodles and the prepared sauce. Toss everything together over medium heat for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and well coated with the sauce. Serve hot.
