Chicken Marinade

Coating and Frying

Method

Marinate the Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Cut the boneless, skinless chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and place them in a bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix Marinade

In the bowl with the chicken, add soy sauce, cornstarch, egg, and salt. Mix well until the chicken is fully coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Prepare the Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, red pepper flakes, and water until the sugar is dissolved. Set aside.

Coat and Fry the Chicken

  1. 4

    Prepare the Coating

In a shallow dish, place the all-purpose flour.

  2. 5

    Dredge the Chicken

Take each piece of marinated chicken and dredge it in the flour, shaking off any excess.

  3. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

  4. 7

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Combine and Serve

  1. 8

    Combine Chicken and Sauce

In the same skillet, remove excess oil, leaving about 1 tablespoon. Add the fried chicken back to the skillet, pour the prepared sauce over the chicken, and toss to coat.

  2. 9

    Garnish

Add chopped green onions and sesame seeds on top before serving.

  3. 10

    Serve

Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
