Method

Preparing the Filling

  1. 1

    Cook the Pork

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground pork. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Add the shredded cabbage, grated carrots, chopped green onions, and minced garlic to the skillet. Stir well and cook for another 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

  3. 3

    Season the Filling

Pour in the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Assembling the Egg Rolls

  1. 4

    Prepare the Wrapper

Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with a corner pointing towards you. Spoon approximately 2 tablespoons of the filling into the center.

  2. 5

    Roll the Egg Roll

Fold the corner closest to you over the filling, then fold in the two side corners. Roll tightly away from you to form the egg roll. Use a little water to seal the edge.

  3. 6

    Repeat

Repeat the rolling process with the remaining wrappers and filling until all are used.

Frying the Egg Rolls

  1. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pan or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 8

    Fry the Egg Rolls

Carefully add the egg rolls to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  3. 9

    Serve

Serve the egg rolls hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
