Loaded Potato Skins Ingredients

Method

Loaded Potato Skins Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Scrub the potatoes under running water. Poke several holes in each potato with a fork to allow steam to escape.

  2. 2

    Bake the Potatoes

Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack and bake them for about 45-60 minutes, or until they are tender when pierced with a fork. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Scoop Out the Flesh

Once the potatoes are cool enough to handle, cut them in half lengthwise. Scoop out most of the flesh, leaving about 1/4 inch of potato on the skin to create a sturdy base.

  4. 4

    Season and Oil the Skins

Brush the potato skins with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Place them skin-side up on a baking sheet.

  5. 5

    Second Bake

Return the potato skins to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden.

  6. 6

    Fill with Toppings

Remove the skins from the oven and fill each with shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and chopped green onions.

  7. 7

    Melt the Cheese

Return the filled potato skins to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  8. 8

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Serve hot with sour cream on the side.
