Fried Haddock Ingredients

Method

Fried Haddock Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Breading

In a shallow dish, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.

  3. 3

    Coat the Fish

Dip each haddock fillet first into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, and then coat thoroughly in the breading mixture. Set aside on a plate.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Haddock

Carefully place the breaded haddock fillets in the hot oil, cooking in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried haddock from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
