Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare Chickpeas
If using dried chickpeas, soak them overnight in water. The next day, drain and rinse them, then boil in fresh water for about 1-2 hours until tender. If using canned chickpeas, simply drain and rinse them.
- 2
Prepare Garlic
Peel and roughly chop the fresh garlic cloves.
- 3
Juice Lemons
Juice the fresh lemons to obtain the required amount of lemon juice.
Blending
- 4
Combine Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic, tahini, ground cumin, and salt.
- 5
Blend Hummus
Process the ingredients on high speed until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a little water (1-2 tbsp) to achieve your desired consistency.
Serving
- 6
Serve Hummus
Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with paprika. Optionally, garnish with chopped parsley.
