Pizza Bianco Directions
- 1
Make the Dough
In a bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center, pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil, then mix until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
- 4
Prepare the Pizza
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- 5
Add Toppings
Drizzle olive oil over the dough, then spread the minced garlic evenly. Layer the fresh mozzarella, followed by the diced heirloom tomatoes. Top with fresh basil leaves and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over everything.
- 6
Bake the Pizza
Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 7
Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve warm.
