Crab Cake Ingredients
Method
Preparation and Assembly
- 1
Make the Crab Cake Mixture
In a large bowl, gently mix together the crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, parsley, green onions, salt, pepper, and beaten egg. Carefully fold in the breadcrumbs until just combined. Be careful not to break up the crab meat too much.
- 2
Form the Crab Cakes
Using your hands, form the crab mixture into patties, about 3 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- 3
Cook the Crab Cakes
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the crab cakes in batches, cooking for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and heated through. Remove and place on paper towels to drain.
- 4
Assemble the Sandwich
Toast the sandwich buns, then place a crab cake on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, and any other desired toppings. Spread additional mayonnaise or a remoulade sauce on the top half of the bun and close the sandwich.
