Fried Fish Sandwich Ingredients

Method

Fried Fish Sandwich Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fish

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Batter

In another bowl, beat the eggs and milk together. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Fish

Dip each fish fillet into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off. Carefully place the fillets in the hot oil and fry for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

  5. 5

    Drain the Fish

Remove the fried fish from the oil and place on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

On each hamburger bun, place a lettuce leaf, a fried fish fillet, a slice of tomato, and a generous dollop of tartar sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the sandwiches hot with lemon wedges on the side.
