Mac-N-Cheese and Chicken Ingredients

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk and bring to a simmer, stirring until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Combine Pasta and Cheese Sauce

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce, mixing until well combined. Transfer to a baking dish.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Fried Chicken

Set up a dredging station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten egg, and one with panko breadcrumbs. Dip each chicken drumstick first in flour, then in egg, and finally in panko breadcrumbs.

  5. 5

    Fry the Chicken

In a large pot, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken drumsticks and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 12-15 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Dish

Top the mac-n-cheese with crumbled bacon and place the fried chicken drumstick on top. Drizzle with your choice of hot sauce.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve hot and enjoy your Angry Yard Bird Mac-n-Cheese!
