Pulled Pork

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pulled Pork

Mix the brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper in a bowl to create a dry rub. Rub the mixture all over the pork shoulder and let it sit for at least 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator.

  2. 2

    Smoke the Pork

Prepare your smoker with hickory wood chips and preheat it to 225°F (107°C). Place the pork shoulder in the smoker and smoke for about 8 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).

  3. 3

    Make the BBQ Sauce

In a saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, hot sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, then set aside.

  4. 4

    Make the Coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage and carrots. In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss to combine. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

  5. 5

    Toast the Buns

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the melted butter on the brioche buns and place them on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Sliders

Shred the smoked pork and mix with the BBQ sauce. Place a generous amount of pulled pork on the toasted brioche bun, top with coleslaw, and serve immediately.
