Pretzel Bombs
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Gradually add in the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead and Rise
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 3
Shape the Pretzel Bombs
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Punch down the risen dough and divide it into small pieces (about 1 oz each). Roll each piece into a ball and place on a greased baking sheet.
- 4
Boil the Pretzel Balls
In a large pot, bring 10 cups of water to a boil. Add baking soda to the boiling water. Carefully drop the pretzel balls into the boiling water for 30 seconds, then remove and place back on the baking sheet.
