Tres Leches Cake

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the whole milk, until fully incorporated.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Milk Mixture

In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and additional whole milk.

  7. 7

    Soak the Cake

Once the cake has cooled, poke holes all over the top using a fork. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in.

  8. 8

    Chill the Cake

Cover and refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
