Sear the Ribs
Season the short ribs with salt and black pepper. In a large Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the short ribs on all sides until browned, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.

Marinate the Mushrooms
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Add the mushroom caps and let them marinate for at least 72 hours in the refrigerator.

Plate the Dish
Serve the braised short ribs or marinated mushroom caps on a plate, add the maple bourbon-glazed carrots on the side, and garnish with edible flowers.
