Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Cauliflower
Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower head. Slice the cauliflower into 4 thick 'filets' for the sandwich.
- 2
Marinate
In a bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce. Submerge the cauliflower filets in the mixture and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 3
Prepare the Breading
In another bowl, mix together flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 4
Bread the Cauliflower
Remove the cauliflower from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each filet in the flour mixture until fully coated.
- 5
Fry the Cauliflower
In a large frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Carefully add the breaded cauliflower filets and fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 6
- 7
Assemble the Sandwich
Place a fried cauliflower filet on the bottom half of each bun. Top with dill pickle chips and cover with the top half of the bun.
- 8
Serve
Serve the sandwiches warm and enjoy your Chick-fil-A inspired cauliflower sandwich!
