If using salmon, ensure it is sashimi-grade. If using octopus, boil it until tender and then chill. Slice the salmon or octopus thinly using a sharp knife.

Peel the mango and slice it into thin strips. Dice the tomato into small pieces, removing the seeds if desired.

On a large plate, arrange the thin slices of salmon or octopus in a circular pattern. Overlap the slices slightly.
