Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prep the Scallops

Rinse the scallops under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Make sure they are very dry to achieve a good sear.

  2. 2

    Season the Scallops

Sprinkle both sides of the scallops with salt and black pepper. Set aside while you prepare the sauce.

  3. 3

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves. Set aside.

  4. 4

    Chop the Parsley

Finely chop the fresh parsley. Set aside for garnish.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  2. 6

    Sear the Scallops

Carefully place the scallops in the hot skillet, ensuring they are not touching. Sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Avoid overcrowding the pan; you may need to do this in batches.

  3. 7

    Make the Lemon Butter Sauce

Once the scallops are done, remove them from the skillet and keep them warm. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. When melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  4. 8

    Add Lemon Juice

Stir in the lemon juice and mix well. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 1-2 minutes to thicken slightly.

  5. 9

    Combine and Serve

Return the scallops to the skillet and gently toss them in the lemon butter sauce. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
