Chocolate Cake

Prepare the Batter
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add Boiling Water
Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.

Bake the Cake
Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool.
Chocolate Crème

Melt the Chocolate
In a double boiler or microwave, melt the dark chocolate until smooth. Let it cool slightly.

Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.

Combine Egg Yolks and Sugar
In a separate bowl, whisk together egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and thick.

Mix Ingredients Together
Gradually add the melted chocolate and vanilla extract to the egg mixture, folding gently. Then fold in the whipped cream until fully incorporated.

Chill the Crème
Transfer the chocolate crème to serving cups and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Add Cream and Butter
Remove from heat and carefully stir in the heavy cream and butter until smooth.

Stir in the sea salt and let the caramel cool slightly before using.
Amarula Ice Cream

Combine Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, condensed milk, and Amarula liqueur until smooth.

Freeze the Mixture
Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, or freeze in a container for 4-6 hours, stirring every hour.
