Fritters

Method

Fritters

  1. 1

    Prepare Chickpeas

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

  2. 2

    Chop Vegetables

Finely chop the red onion and garlic cloves. Mince the fresh parsley.

  3. 3

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, mash the chickpeas with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth, leaving some chunks for texture. Add the chopped onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, black pepper, flour, and baking powder. Mix until well combined.

  4. 4

    Form Fritters

Using your hands, shape the mixture into small patties or fritters, about 2 inches in diameter.

  5. 5

    Cook Fritters

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the fritters in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

    Drain Excess Oil

Remove the fritters from the skillet and place them on paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Spicy Yogurt

  1. 7

    Prepare Yogurt Mix

In a small bowl, combine the plain yogurt, sriracha, lemon juice, garlic powder, and salt. Stir well to combine.
