Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Octopus

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the octopus and simmer for about 30-40 minutes until tender. Once cooked, remove from the pot and let cool.

  2. 2

    Make Marinade

In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, smoked paprika, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Marinate the Octopus

Once the octopus is cool enough to handle, cut it into tentacles and place it in the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 5

    Prepare the Lemon

Cut the lemons in half and brush the cut sides with a little olive oil.

  3. 6

    Grill the Octopus

Place the marinated octopus on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side until charred and crispy.

  4. 7

    Grill the Lemon

Place the lemon halves cut-side down on the grill for about 2-3 minutes until charred.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Once the octopus is grilled, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve on a platter, drizzle with extra olive oil, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley and red pepper flakes.

  2. 9

    Serve with Grilled Lemon

Serve the octopus with the grilled lemon halves on the side for drizzling.
