Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Start by removing the membrane from the back of the ribs. This helps the seasoning penetrate better.

  2. 2

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the ribs.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Smoker

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Soak the hickory wood chips in water for about 30 minutes before using.

  4. 4

    Smoke the Ribs

Place the soaked wood chips in the smoker. Put the seasoned ribs on the smoker grates and smoke for about 4-5 hours, or until the meat is tender and pulls away from the bone.

  5. 5

    Apply BBQ Sauce

During the last 30 minutes of smoking, brush the ribs with BBQ sauce. Allow the sauce to caramelize slightly.

  6. 6

    Rest and Serve

Remove the ribs from the smoker and let them rest for about 10 minutes. Slice and serve with additional BBQ sauce if desired.
