Baking Instructions

- 2
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until melted and smooth.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until well combined. Slowly add the melted chocolate mixture and stir until combined. Fold in the flour and salt until just combined.
- 4
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.
- 5
Bake
Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
- 6
Cool and Serve
Remove from the oven and let them cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert the ramekins onto plates, allowing the lava cake to release. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with chocolate sauce.
