1. Prepare the Coating

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix well.

2. Prepare the Egg Mixture

In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until well combined.

3. Coat the Fish and Shrimp

Dip each fish fillet and shrimp into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Then dredge in the flour-cornmeal mixture until well coated.

4. Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

5. Fry the Fish and Shrimp

Carefully place the coated fish and shrimp in the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

6. Drain and Serve

Remove the fried fish and shrimp from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with lemon wedges.
