Dough

Cinnamon Sugar

For Frying

Method

Prepare the Dough

  1. 1

    Boil the Mixture

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once the mixture is boiling, remove it from heat and quickly stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour until the mixture forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Let the dough cool for a few minutes, then add in the 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth and glossy.

Prepare Cinnamon Sugar

  1. 4

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon. Set aside.

Fry the Churros

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat 2 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe the Dough

Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Carefully pipe 4-6 inch lengths of dough into the hot oil.

  3. 7

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown. Use tongs to turn them as needed.

  4. 8

    Drain and Coat

Once fried, remove the churros from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Immediately roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.
