Fried Vanilla Ice Cream

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ice Cream Balls

Scoop out the vanilla ice cream into balls and place them on a baking sheet. Freeze the balls for at least 2 hours or until they are firm.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Coating

Crush the cornflakes into small pieces and place them in a shallow bowl. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Coat the Ice Cream Balls

Take the frozen ice cream balls out of the freezer. Dip each ball into the flour mixture, then roll it in the crushed cornflakes, ensuring they are completely coated. Return them to the baking sheet and freeze again for 30 minutes.

  4. 4

    Fry the Ice Cream

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Carefully drop the coated ice cream balls into the hot oil, frying only a few at a time. Fry for about 20-30 seconds until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Serve

Place the fried ice cream on a serving plate, drizzle with chocolate sauce, and top with whipped cream. Serve immediately.
