Tuna Steak

Vinaigrette

Method

Prepare the Tuna

1

Season the Tuna

Season the tuna steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides.

2

Coat with Sesame Seeds

Evenly coat the seasoned tuna steaks with sesame seeds, pressing them into the fish to ensure they adhere.

3

Sear the Tuna

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the tuna steaks and sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is achieved. Remove from heat and let rest.

Prepare the Salad

4

Chop the Vegetables

Slice the granny smith apple, tomato, and red onion thinly. Set them aside.

5

Combine Salad Greens

In a large salad bowl, combine the mixed greens and arugula. Add the sliced apple, tomato, and red onion, tossing gently to mix.

6

Add Pumpkin Seeds

Sprinkle caramel glazed pumpkin seeds on top of the salad.

Prepare the Vinaigrette

7

Mix the Vinaigrette

In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, dijon mustard, and season with salt and black pepper to taste until well combined.

Assemble the Salad

8

Slice the Tuna

Once the tuna has rested, slice it thinly against the grain.

9

Plate the Salad

Top the salad with the sliced tuna and drizzle the vinaigrette over the top.

10

Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy your Ensalada de Filete Atún!
