Blackened Salmon and Sides

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Blackened Salmon

In a small bowl, mix together paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Rub this spice mixture generously over the salmon fillets.

  2. 2

    Cook the Salmon

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets skin-side down. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy and the salmon is cooked halfway through. Flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the salmon is fully cooked and blackened. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Spinach

In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the spinach and cook until wilted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot of boiling salted water, add the angel hair pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and return to the pot.

  5. 5

    Combine with Marinara Sauce

Add the marinara sauce to the drained pasta and stir to combine, heating gently until warmed through.

  6. 6

    Serve

On a plate, create a bed of garlic sautéed spinach, top with the blackened salmon, and serve alongside the angel hair pasta with marinara sauce.
