Calamari Steak

Method

Preparing the Calamari

1

Prepare the Breading Station

Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

2

Bread the Calamari

Dredge each calamari steak in flour, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Press the breadcrumbs onto the calamari to ensure an even coating.

3

Fry the Calamari

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the breaded calamari steaks and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Cooking the Pasta

4

Cook the Pasta

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the angel hair pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

5

Heat the Marinara Sauce

In a saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat until warmed through.

Serving

6

Plate the Dish

On each plate, serve a portion of angel hair pasta topped with marinara sauce. Place a Parmesan crusted calamari steak on top and garnish with fresh basil and additional Parmesan cheese.
