Tonkatsu Ingredients

Method

Tonkatsu Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Season the pork loin chops with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs.

  3. 3

    Bread the Pork

Dredge each pork chop in flour, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs, pressing to adhere.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Pork

Carefully add the breaded pork chops to the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, remove the pork from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve with tonkatsu sauce and shredded cabbage on the side.
