Dumpling Filling
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, ground pork, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- 2
Assemble the Dumplings
Take a dumpling wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it in half, and press the edges to seal. You can also pleat the edges for a decorative touch.
- 3
Cook the Dumplings
In a large skillet, heat a bit of oil over medium heat. Place the dumplings in the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown. Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately. Steam the dumplings for about 5-7 minutes or until cooked through.
- 4
Serve
Remove the dumplings from the skillet and serve hot with shoyu soy sauce for dipping.
