Dumpling Ingredients

Method

Dumpling Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, shrimp, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper until well combined.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Shumai

Place a shumai wrapper in your hand, spoon about a tablespoon of filling into the center, and gather the edges of the wrapper to form a cup shape. Repeat for the remaining shumai wrappers.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Wontons

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface, add about a teaspoon of filling in the center, wet the edges with water, and fold the wrapper over to create a triangle. Pinch the edges to seal. Repeat for the remaining wonton wrappers.

  4. 4

    Cook the Dumplings

Set up a steamer and bring water to a simmer. Arrange the dumplings in the steamer basket, ensuring they are not touching. Steam the shumai for about 6-8 minutes and the wontons for about 4-5 minutes, or until fully cooked.

  5. 5

    Serve

Arrange the steamed dumplings on a plate and serve with soy sauce for dipping.
