Pork Marinade
Cooking Ingredients
Method
Pork Marinade Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, gochujang, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, and black pepper. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is well combined.
- 2
Marinate the Pork
Add the pork shoulder to the marinade, ensuring it is well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for the best flavor.
Cooking the Pork
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or grill pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- 4
Cook the Pork
Remove the pork from the marinade (discard the marinade) and add it to the hot skillet. Sear the pork on all sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- 5
Finish Cooking
Reduce the heat to medium and continue to cook the pork until it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C), about 15-20 minutes depending on thickness.
- 6
Let it Rest
Once cooked, remove the pork from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Serving
- 7
Slice and Garnish
Slice the pork into thin strips. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and additional chopped green onions on top for garnish.
- 8
Serve
Serve the spicy marinated pork with steamed rice or lettuce wraps, if desired.
