Method

Preparation

1

Boil the Quail Eggs

In a medium saucepan, bring water to a rolling boil. Gently lower the quail eggs into the boiling water using a slotted spoon.

2

Cooking Time

Boil the quail eggs for 4 minutes for a soft-boiled texture or 6 minutes for a firm yolk. Once done, immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.

3

Peeling the Eggs

After the eggs have cooled for about 5 minutes in the ice water, gently tap each egg on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel under running water for easier removal.

Seasoning and Serving

4

Season the Eggs

In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, and chopped fresh herbs together. Sprinkle this seasoning mixture over the peeled quail eggs.

5

Heat the Olive Oil

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the seasoned quail eggs and sauté for 1-2 minutes until they are heated through and slightly golden.

6

Plating

Transfer the sautéed quail eggs to a serving plate. Optionally drizzle with Sriracha sauce and serve with lemon wedges on the side for added flavor.
