Preparation and Marinating
- 1
Marinate the Steak
In a bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, red wine vinegar, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, black pepper, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
- 2
Add the Steak
Place the hanger steak in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Remove from Marinade
Take the steak out of the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Discard the leftover marinade.
- 5
Cook the Steak
Place the steak on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature (130°F for medium-rare).
- 6
Rest the Steak
Once cooked, remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
Optional Side Dish

Prepare the Asparagus
While the steak is resting, prepare the asparagus. Trim the ends and place them on a baking sheet.
- 8
Season the Asparagus
Drizzle olive oil over the asparagus and season with salt and black pepper. Toss to coat.
- 9
Roast the Asparagus
Roast in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes until tender and slightly charred.
