If using dried rice cakes, soak them in warm water for about 30 minutes until they are pliable.

Slice the cabbage into bite-sized pieces and chop the green onions into 1-inch sections.

In a small bowl, mix together gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and sesame oil to create the sauce.

Cook the Tteokbokki
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to medium-low and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens slightly and the rice cakes are tender.
