Method

Taco Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Season the Beef

Drain excess fat from the skillet, then add taco seasoning to the beef. Stir in 1/4 cup of water and simmer for 5 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.

  3. 3

    Prepare Taco Shells

While the beef is simmering, prepare taco shells according to package instructions, usually warming them in the oven for 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Assemble Tacos

Fill each taco shell with seasoned beef, then top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and jalapeños as desired.

Enchilada Preparation

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Prepare the Tortillas

Warm the corn tortillas in a skillet over low heat until soft, about 20-30 seconds on each side.

  3. 7

    Fill the Tortillas

Spoon some shredded chicken into each tortilla, roll them tightly, and place them seam-side down in a greased baking dish.

  4. 8

    Add Enchilada Sauce

Pour the enchilada sauce evenly over the rolled tortillas in the baking dish. Sprinkle shredded Monterey Jack cheese on top.

  5. 9

    Bake the Enchiladas

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  6. 10

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped cilantro before serving. Enjoy your tacos and enchiladas!
