Method

Preparing the Taco Shells

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to warm the taco shells.

  2. 2

    Warm Taco Shells

Place the hard shell taco shells on a baking sheet and warm them in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes.

Preparing the Ground Beef Filling

  1. 3

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

In a skillet over medium heat, add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook Ground Beef

Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 5

    Add Seasoning and Water

Stir in taco seasoning and water. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat.

Preparing the Shredded Beef Filling

  1. 6

    Heat Shredded Beef

In a separate pot, add the shredded beef and BBQ sauce. Heat on medium until warmed through, about 5-7 minutes.

Preparing the Red Chicken Filling

  1. 7

    Cook Chicken

In a pot, cook the chicken breast in water until fully cooked, about 15-20 minutes. Shred the chicken once cooked.

  2. 8

    Combine with Sauce

In a skillet, combine shredded chicken, red enchilada sauce, cumin, and salt. Heat until warmed through, about 5 minutes.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 9

    Fill Taco Shells

Take a warmed taco shell and add a generous scoop of the ground beef filling, followed by the shredded beef or red chicken filling.

  2. 10

    Add Toppings

Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and sliced jalapeños to taste.
