Preparation
- 1
Slice the Beef
Thinly slice the ribeye or sirloin beef against the grain into strips about 1/8 inch thick.
- 2
Make the Marinade
In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, sliced green onions, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
- 3
Marinate the Beef
Place the sliced beef in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the beef, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight, to enhance the flavor.
Cooking
- 4
Prepare the Grill or Pan
Heat a grill or a large skillet over high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.
- 5
Cook the Beef
Remove the beef from the marinade, letting excess marinade drip off. Cook the beef in batches to avoid overcrowding, for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until nicely browned and cooked through.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Once cooked, sprinkle sesame seeds and additional sliced green onion on top. Serve hot with rice or wrapped in lettuce leaves.
