Dumpling Wrapper

For Frying

Method

Dumpling Wrapper Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Rest the Dough

Cover the dough with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let it rest for at least 30 minutes to relax the gluten.

  3. 3

    Roll Out the Dough

After resting, divide the dough into small portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle about 3 inches in diameter. Keep the circles covered with a damp cloth to prevent them from drying out.

Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced ginger, and minced garlic. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Assembly and Cooking

  1. 5

    Fill the Dumplings

Take one dumpling wrapper and place a spoonful of filling in the center. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold the wrapper over the filling and pinch to seal tightly.

  2. 6

    Steam the Dumplings

Prepare a steamer and bring water to a boil. Place the dumplings in the steamer basket, making sure they are not touching. Steam for about 10-12 minutes until they are cooked through.

  3. 7

    Fry the Dumplings

In a frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the steamed dumplings in the pan, frying until the bottoms are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.

  4. 8

    Serve

Remove the dumplings from the pan and serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
