Method
Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Salmon
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sake, sesame oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Mix well and add the salmon fillets, ensuring they are well-coated. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- 2
Prepare the Bok Choy
While the salmon is marinating, rinse the bok choy under cold water to remove any dirt. Chop off the bottom stem and slice the leaves in half lengthwise.
Cooking
- 3
Cook the Salmon
Preheat the grill or a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Remove the salmon from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place the fillets skin-side down on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- 4
Sauté the Bok Choy
In a separate skillet, heat a tablespoon of sesame oil over medium heat. Add the bok choy and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until tender, seasoning with salt and black pepper to taste. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the bok choy just before serving.
Plating
- 5
Serve
On each plate, place a portion of bok choy and top it with a grilled salmon fillet. Drizzle with any remaining juice from the cooking process and garnish with extra sesame seeds if desired.
