Method
Marinating the Beef
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, combine the teriyaki sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sesame oil. Mix well.
- 2
Marinate the Beef
Add the sliced beef sirloin to the marinade. Ensure all pieces are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 hours for better flavor.
Cooking the Rice
- 3
Rinse the Rice
Rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- 4
Cook the Rice
In a pot, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
Cooking the Beef
- 5
Cook the Marinated Beef
Heat a non-stick skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef (discard any leftover marinade) and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes, or until the beef is browned and cooked through.
- 6
Serve
Once the beef is cooked, remove from heat. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve the beef over the rice, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
