Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all your ingredients. Ensure the butter is at room temperature for easy spreading. If using tomato or bacon, prepare them by slicing the tomato and cooking the bacon until crispy.
Cooking
- 2
Butter the Bread
Spread one tablespoon of butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread. This will help achieve a golden and crispy crust.
- 3
Assemble the Sandwich
Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in a skillet over medium heat. Layer with one slice of cheddar cheese. If using, add tomato slices and bacon strips on top of the cheese. Finally, place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side up.
- 4
Grill the Sandwich
Cook the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich using a spatula and grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
- 5
Serve
Remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it cool for a minute. Cut the sandwich in half and serve immediately.
