Pork Ribs

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, five-spice powder, minced garlic, minced ginger, and red food coloring (if using). Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Ribs

Place the pork ribs in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for best flavor.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 4

    Prepare Ribs for Baking

Remove the ribs from the marinade and reserve the marinade for basting. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.

  3. 5

    Bake the Ribs

Cover the ribs with another layer of aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender.

  4. 6

    Baste and Broil

After baking, remove the foil, brush the ribs with the reserved marinade, and place them under the broiler for 5-7 minutes, or until the ribs are caramelized and slightly charred.

  5. 7

    Slice and Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven, allow them to rest for a few minutes, then slice between the bones and serve warm.
