Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the sirloin steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps the steak cook more evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil on both sides. Then, season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

Preheat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until it’s hot.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Place the seasoned steak in the hot pan. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side without moving it, until a nice crust forms.

  5. 5

    Flip and Add Butter

Flip the steak and add butter to the pan. If using, add the rosemary sprig as well. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, basting the steak with the melted butter.

  6. 6

    Check for Doneness

To achieve medium-rare, the internal temperature should reach about 130°F (54°C). Adjust cooking time according to your preferred doneness.

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
