In a bowl, soak the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Dredge the Chicken
In a shallow dish, mix together flour, cornmeal, and additional salt and pepper. Remove chicken from buttermilk and dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.

Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the chicken for 6-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
