Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Potatoes
Peel and grate the Russet potatoes using a box grater or food processor. Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out excess moisture.
- 2
Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined.
- 3
Form the Tater Tots
Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small, cylindrical tots. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Tater Tots
Fry the tots in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot, for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Serve the hot tater tots with your favorite dipping sauce.
