Mint Cucumber Raita Ingredients

Method

Biryani Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, mix chicken pieces with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, biryani masala, mint, cilantro, lemon juice, and salt. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Rice

Wash and soak basmati rice in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  3. 3

    Cook the Chicken

In a large pot, heat ghee or oil over medium heat. Add whole spices and sauté for a minute. Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft. Stir in the marinated chicken and cook until chicken is browned.

  4. 4

    Layer the Biryani

In the same pot with the chicken, layer the soaked rice evenly. Pour water over the rice, ensuring it covers the rice completely. Adjust salt if needed.

  5. 5

    Dum Cooking

Cover the pot with a tight lid and reduce the heat to low. Cook for about 30-35 minutes until the rice is fully cooked and the chicken is tender.

  6. 6

    Serve

Fluff the biryani gently and serve hot with mint cucumber raita.
