Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bratwurst

In a large saucepan, combine the bratwurst and pale ale. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 15-20 minutes until the sausages are cooked through. Remove from heat.

  2. 2

    Grill the Bratwurst

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the bratwurst on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they have nice grill marks and are heated through.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Sauerkraut

In a small saucepan, heat the sauerkraut over medium heat until warmed through. Set aside.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

If not already prepared, boil peeled potatoes until fork-tender, then mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper to taste. Keep warm.

  5. 5

    Sauté the Chef Vegetables

In a skillet, heat a bit of oil over medium heat. Add the chef vegetables and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Season with salt and pepper.

  6. 6

    Plate the Dish

On each plate, arrange the grilled bratwursts, a serving of mashed potatoes, a portion of sauerkraut, and the sautéed vegetables. Drizzle demi-glace over the sausages and serve with whole grain mustard on the side.
